My interest in photography did not start from the desire to capture images in time but actually the chemistry... photochemical and solution chemistry. I am a self-taught photographer specializing in performance, concert, portrait and land / cityscapes using digital and film cameras fitted with Nikon manual focus AIS lenses.

I work all day in an organic chemistry lab then go home and continue working in a lab…photo / darkroom. Having access to a darkroom, strong understanding of chemistry in general and by referring to textbooks such as The Darkroom Cookbook & The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes, I have figured out how each chemical component (aka ingredient) affects the photo development process.

As a  result, I have a strong working understanding and experience  customizing solutions for film development (color and B/W) and print making; ie silver gelatin, polarization and alternative printing methods.

In addition to my addiction to (mixing) chemicals, music is a very important part of my life. I have been taking a camera to concerts for more than 15 years however, only been sharing these images online less than half that time. Majority of my concert photography can be seen on foundwaves.org, which has roots in Boston Massachusetts and San Francisco California.

Besides documenting the local music scene in and around Boston Massachusetts, Providence Rhode Island and NYC, I have covered various music festivals over the years;  All Tomorrow’s Parties ( 2010 & 2011), Austin Psych Fest ( 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014), Boston Music Awards (2010) and Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia ( 2012, 2013 & 2014).

I photograph more than just concerts, yet only a small number of people have seen examples of. In attempt to develop my photographic skills further and interest to share more than just music photos, I created this website. The purpose of this site is to serve as a living portfolio, not a photo dump (I use flickr for that...click here for my flickr photostream). I have several sections / collections which will rotate from time to time... so please bookmark this page if you like what you see and visit again!

I am available for freelance work and/or if you would like to purchase a print, send me an email and we will figure it out. Thanks for taking the time to see what I have seen. Please come back again!
